STUDENT NEWS:

  • Congratulations to today’s trivia winner, Nile Debebe!  The Nile River is the longest river in the world.  Today’s trivia:  What car won the 2012 Motor Trend “Car of the Year”?
  • There will be 8th grade girls’ basketball practice today after school.
  • Sixth through eighth graders who plan on attending Southeast High School can join the trap team.  If you are interested, please stop by the office for an information sheet to take home and discuss with your parent/guardian.
  • Hey all you artists out there!  Design the logo to be used for the 2013 Lincoln Public Schools/Food Bank BackPack Walk T-shirts.  The artwork submitted must be original and should encourage the fight against hunger.  The student with the winning entry will receive a prize.   Entry forms are available in the front office.

STUDENT NEWS:

  • Congratulations to today’s trivia winner, Joey Morgan!  He got the only correct answer:  100 pounds is 45.36 in kilograms.  Today’s question:  The longest river in the world has a length of 4132 miles.  Name it.
  • There will be 8th grade girls’ basketball practice today after school.
  • What would you tell America’s founding fathers?  Well you have the opportunity to write about it by entering the Patriot’s Pen Essay Writing Contest.  If you are interested pick up an entry form in the front office.
  • Lincoln High School will be hosting the first-annual IB Academy Day for prospective students in the International Baccalaureate program from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 10. Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students are cordially invited to attend this event. Stop by the counselor’s office to get more information.

  • Lefler trivia will be postponed for a couple of days.
  • There will be 8th grade girls’ basketball practice today after school.
  • Today’s “Pay It Forward” idea is to help your teacher with something they need.
  • The media center will be closed after school today.

  • Congratulations to today’s trivia winner, Anna Orlov!  Alaska is known as “The Last Frontier”.  Come to the office during lunch to collect your prize.  Today’s trivia:  The New York Yankees have won the most World Series in baseball. What team comes in second?
  • Congratulations to this week’s morning music DJ, Xavier Owen-Miller!
  • There will be 8th grade girls’ basketball practice today after school.
  • Today’s “Pay It Forward” idea is to help someone without being asked.
  • Want to try something new?  Want a change of pace?  How about going to school at a real zoo?  The Science Focus Program (the Zoo School) may be right for you!  If interested come to our Informational Night on Tuesday, November 13 at 6:00 or 7:00 p.m.

STUDENT NEWS:

  • Congratulations to today’s trivia winner, Eledon Beyene!  Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States.  Cleveland is the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms and therefore the only individual counted twice among the presidents. Come to the office during lunch to collect your prize.  Today’s trivia:   What US state is known as, “The Last Frontier”?
  • Thank you to all students who participated in Student Vote yesterday.  Thanks especially to Allie Rauner, Mercy Morales and Eva Hafermann who served as the Election Commissioners.  Here are the results from Lefler.  President Obama received 68% of the vote for President and Governor Romney received 28%.  In the Senate race, Bob Kerrey had 62% of the vote and Deb Fisher had 38%, in the race for the House of Representatives, Congressman Jeff Fortenberry received 52% of the vote and Korey Reiman received 48% and in the race for State Board of Education, Lillie Larsen earned 54% and Bob Van Valkenburg earned 45%.
  • There will be 7th grade girls’ basketball practice today after school.
  • Today’s “Pay It Forward” idea is to talk to a student you normally don’t talk to.
  • Thanks for all your help with the FRIGHT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE!!  We brought in a total of 184 pounds to help support the People’s City Mission.  The overall winner of the food drive is the class of 2019 bringing in a total of 101 pounds.  2nd Place goes to the class of 2017 with 61 pounds and 3rd Place goes to the class of 2018 with 22 pounds.
  • 8th Grade Students interested in mobile app development, computer game development, digital video or other advanced computer classes are invited to attend informational meetings at the Information Technology Focus Program Tuesday, November 13, beginning at 7:00 PM.

  • Today’s “Pay It Forward” idea is to help your parents with something. “Pay It Forward” t-shirts will be on sale during lunch for $10 today.
  • The winner of last week’s food drive collection is the class of 2019!!!  Congratulations!  Friday, you will get to wear a hat of your choice!  (School appropriate of course.)
