STUDENT NEWS:

  • Congratulations to today’s trivia winner, Aden Whipple!  The first Vice President of the United States was John Adams.  Come to the office during lunch to collect your prize. Today’s trivia:  List the six Lincoln Public High Schools in order from the oldest to the most recent.

 

  • 8th grade volleyball and flag football will have practice today after school.

STUDENT NEWS:

  • Congratulations to today’s trivia winner, Summer Stanley!  There have been two sets of father and son combinations who served as United States Presidents:  John Adams and John Quincy Adams; and George H. Bush and George W. Bush.  Come to the office during lunch to collect your prize.  This week the United States celebrates Constitution Day, so for the next few days the trivia questions will be about the U.S. Constitution and government. Today’s trivia:  What is the purpose of the constitution?
  • There will be no snacks for 8th graders due to messes at lunch-time.

  • Congratulations to Isaac Back!  He knew the United Kingdom is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  Come to the office during lunch to collect your prize.  Today’s trivia:   What two father and son combinations both served as Presidents of the United States of America?

 

  • There will be a parent meeting for parents who have not yet signed up for the 2013 D.C. trip tonight at 6:00 p.m. in Mrs. Fowler’s room (C21)

  • Tomorrow  is the Lefler Clothing Day Contest!  Whoever wears the most Lefler colors, wins!  The rules are:  (1) no body or face painting; (2) blue and gold/yellow clothing ; (3) temporary tattoos are allowed; (4) must be school appropriate and follow the student handbook; (5) contest begins from 8:00 a.m. to 2:58 p.m. on September 12th; (6) no hair coloring; and (7) no props.  Get your Lefler spirit on!

  • Congratulations to Tristan Boutdy and Marissa Maxwell for each getting one of their answers right.  They said, for the last 100 years in the United States, the most given male name at birth has been James and the most given female name has been Mary.  Come to the office during lunch to collect your prize.  Today’s trivia:   What four countries make up the United Kingdom?

STUDENT NEWS:

  • Congratulations Emma Hyberger.  Emma knew that Bolivia has two capital cities.  They are La Paz and Sucre.  Come to the office during lunch to collect your prize.  Today’s trivia:   Name the top male and female name given to babies born in the United States for the last one hundred years.

 

  • Lefler Singers will meet on Monday from 3:08 – 4:00 in A-1.  New singers are welcome!

 

  • Starting next week, students will be selected to be the morning music DJ for one week and will be in charge of running the music that is played before 1st period.  Students will be nominated by teachers, and one student will be randomly selected.  Congratulations to next week’s DJ, Hannah Dennis!

  • There is no winner from yesterday’s trivia question.  Usain Bolt of Jamaica repeated as champion in the 100 meters and ran 9.63; in the 200 meters his time was 19.32;and his Jamaican 400 Meter Relay set a World Record time of 36.84. Today’s trivia: United States won another gold medal for the men’s basketball competition.  What NBA star scored the most points in the Olympic games?

Our top scores on Aug. 29th were: 7th grade-Tyler Pramberg w/ 68laps, Ashley Davis w/ 69 laps.  8th grade-Addie Devney w/ 60 laps, Andrew Fujan w/ 85 laps.  Top Staff-Mr. Wenzl , 71 laps, Mr. Lempka, 62 laps, and Mr. Feldhacker, 57 laps.  JOB WELL DONE!
