We have a new academic support starting this week for students who need help completing their assignments….Team Time Tutors! In addition to the teachers in the classroom, we will also have students there to help you. Thank you to all of the students who have volunteered to be Team Time Tutors! These students will be available during Team Time to help you understand what your assignment is, where to find it, and answer questions you might have about how to complete it. They are not there to do your work for you or socialize with you.

On Monday, the United States celebrates a true American hero, Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. King worked as a Baptist minister and a civil rights activist and began making a significant impact on race relations in the mid-1950s. He was also a spokesperson for nonviolent activism during the Civil Rights Movement. He played a significant role in ending legal segregation of African-Americans in the South and across the nation. MLK is famous for his 1963, “I Have a Dream” speech. He received many honors, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, before he was assassinated in April 1968.

Reminder, if you are joining Mr. Hunter’s group please return your permission forms to the counseling center. The group “under the same umbrella” will start Wednesday.
