 STUDENT NEWS:

  • Congratulations to this week’s Fine Dining winners: 6th grade, Landon Beel and Avianna Vinson; 7th grade, Mahlea Rollie and Kadence Eklund; and 8th grade, Kiana Wiley and Eme Troy!  Please stop by the front office and see Ms. Candace today during your lunch.
  • If you were unable to attend the Student Council meeting after school yesterday but are interested in applying, please pick up an application in the main office.  Both potential new members and potential returning members must complete an application to be considered for membership.  All applications and posters are due Thursday, August 30 by 3:00 p.m.  Please see Miss Pauley in Room 227 if you have any questions.
  • 7th and 8th grade boys and girls SOCCER and girls VOLLEYBALL will start next Monday, August 27th.  Practices will be from 3-4:30. Please sign up in the gym if you are interested.
  • Reminder, today Cross Country practice begins at 3:15 to 4:30 for all grade levels.  Any rides should arrive by 4:30 on Valley Road. We will have no Friday practices during regular season.
  • Lefler Singers will begin rehearsing on Monday next week.  Any student is welcome to join us singing a collection of songs from the Muppet Movie. Permission forms to join the choir are available from Mrs. Oltman or in the main office.
  • Lefler Select Choir is open to 7th and 8th grade students.  Auditions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday of this week before and after school.  Sign up for your audition time on the appropriate day near Mrs. Oltman’s room and get your permission to audition form. You MUST have parent permission to audition!  Rehearsals will begin next week on August 28 at 7:15 AM.
  • Homework Zone, Team Time, and Achievement have begun this week.  Remember that any student can go to Homework Zone in the media center after school.  If you are not in the media center by the 3:10 bell you will need a pass from a teacher to enter.  If you come to class and you do not have your homework done or if you do not complete in class work, your teacher may assign you to Team Time that day.  If that happens, please follow the teacher’s directions to call a parent or guardian to let them know you will be staying.  Team Time rooms for each day are posted around the hallways and in classrooms.  Please be on time to Team Time and bring work with you to complete or a book to read.  If you ride the Star Tran bus you are still expected to attend Team Time and then take the later bus.   If anyone skips Team Time they will be assigned to Achievement Zone the next day.  Students, please remember that not doing your work is not okay so these supports are in place to help you complete your work and do well in all of your classes.
