Getting Into Character!

Character- the moral nature, strength, or reputation of a person. About five years ago there was a federal law passed saying that all schools in the United States have to practice character. And that is what we are doing right now. It’s National Character Week! Starting this week Lefler will start giving excellence referrals to teachers, administrators, faculty, and students who show a good display of caring, kindness, fairness, trustworthy, respect, or citizenship. The culture club will be having speakers come to talk to students about character and why it counts. English teachers are thinking of analyzing character counts and character traits in the characters in the stories they read, making it part of the curriculum. Some of the things that were included in National Character Week were quotes in the bulletin that represent qualities of good character, red-ribbon week joined in with us during the National
Throughout the rest of the school year students will be awarded excellence referrals. For showing behavior that reflects good character. It congratulates students for being leaders at Lefler, for showing good character traits. Character Week. Students who promised to be drug free signed ribbons and the ribbons were put up around our school to promote red ribbon week. During this week students have the opportunity to create their own character quote or choose one from another person that shows great character. Ribbons will be put up in the halls and in the classrooms. Character counts!
